Captions
In Flash Captions are text transcripts of the audio portion to a video or soundtrack. On television you would refer to Captions as Subtitles. Captions are synchronized with the images that are on screen. This is usually done to provide further information for the hearing-impaired, or to provide a translation from a foreign language. Captions are sometimes called Open Captions, Closed Captions or Subtitles.
