Logos should be self explanatory and they are designed with the same intention of giving a basic idea about the business is all about and what it has for the intended audience. For instance there is a news television channel that has a swan as an image, a swan is believed to separate water from milk thus the channels wants to tell its viewers that they show what is what in the society.

Thats the way it should be. But some people are not giving importance of this as long as the design looks great.

A logo is a graphic mark or emblem commonly used by commercial enterprises, organizations and even individuals to aid and promote instant public recognition. Logos are either purely graphic (symbols/icons) or are composed of the name of the organization (a logotype or wordmark). An example of an abstract mark is the blue octagon representing Chase Bank, while an example of a representational mark is the "everyman" icon of PBS. Examples of well-known logotypes (wordmarks) are the striped IBM design, Mobil written in blue with a red "o" and CocaCola written in flowing red script.

A good and effective logo will always convey itself clearly as the logo owner intended it to be. To do so, you will have to follow some guidelines. Here are few of them:

- Simplicity: A simple logo allows for easy identification and it has a unique style of its own.
-Memorable-: This follows closely behind simplicity. A simple yet unique logo will forever be remembered.
-Timeless: A good logo will always be unique and effective no matter how long it has stood the test of time.
