Need help with External Pre-Loader, Tutorial - Preload External Flash Movies with Movie Clips Options

Hello,

I've currently created a Portfolio page in flash (AS 2.0) for a client for the web.
its quiet a big file (around 4.3Mb) so i thought id use an external preloader.

I used this tutorial as a guide:

I can get the file to load my Portfolio.swf

But the Portfolio.swf doesn't play through (there's buttons on frame one that control the page)

all the buttons can roll over (but the scripts don't seem to run?)

does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

any help would be much appreciated!

Or better, can you attach your .fla(s) in a no higher format than CS3, not CS4?

I found the main problem is that im using alots of buttons/movieclips

Theres no animations on the main timeline

Anyway i added them to this message

If you could help me out that would be WELL APPRECIATED!
as i have run out of ideas
